Jim Van Hoof
Vice President, Finance and
Chief Financial Officer


Jim Van Hoof is vice president, finance and chief financial officer, at UTC Power. He is responsible for the company’s finance and information technology functions. 

Van Hoof joined UTC Power in 2006 from United Technologies’ corporate headquarters, where he was director, tax–commercial business, overseeing global tax affairs of Carrier Corporation, Otis Elevator Company and UTC Power. He also served as principal tax advisor to UTC corporate strategy & development regarding mergers and acquisitions. Van Hoof began his UTC career in 1992. 

Prior to joining UTC, Van Hoof worked with Coopers & Lybrand and Deloitte, Haskins & Sells. 

Van Hoof earned a bachelor of arts from Saint Anselm College, a juris doctor from Western New England College School of Law, a master of science from the University of Hartford and a master of laws (LLM) from Boston University School of Law. 

Van Hoof currently serves as chairman of the board of directors for Special Olympics Connecticut.
